What is BayKids?

BayKids is a children’s ministry uniquely designed with your child in mind! Kids, birth through 5th grade, experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. BayKids happens during each South Bay Sunday service at all locations. For all South Bay Church locations and times click here

Our goal is that BayKids will be the best hour of your child’s week, every week. We are dedicated to providing an experience that is inviting, positive, and will set you at ease to enjoy a distraction-free worship experience.

What is Available for Nursing Moms or Families with Babies?

A family viewing area is available at all locations for families with babies or children they do not wish to check into BayKids.

What if I have a Child with Special Needs?

If you have a child with special needs please complete the contact form below. We will contact you so we can work with you to provide the best experience possible for you and your child upon your arrival.

First Time at BayKids?

Upon arriving at BayKids look for the area designated for first time families or ask one of our friendly BayKids volunteers. We will meet your family and help you walk through the check-in process. Once your family is checked in, one of our volunteers will be happy to show you the age appropriate room we have created for your child.

When checking in for the first time we will ask for the following personal information: family member’s names, children’s names and birth dates, family address, phone number, and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your child.

You and your child will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the nametag portion of your matching identification tags, which has a code that is matched to your portion during checkout at the end of the service. During checkout, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

On your way home, be sure to ask your child: “Did you have fun?” and “What did you learn today?”

What if my Child Needs me During the Service?

If for some reason your child were to need you during the service, your family identification code would appear on the screens in the auditorium. We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and look for a staff member who will direct you to your child’s room.

What Activities will my Child Participate in?

Your child will participate in the following age appropriate activities in our 2 year old through 5th grade environments:

Free Time: In the beginning of the service we allow free time for children to play and get some of their energy out.

Large Group Time: In large group time children will participate in singing and dancing to upbeat and fun worship songs, which will be followed by an engaging video lesson that teaches the Biblical truth for the week in a creative and relevant way.

Life Group Time: Following large group time children will have the opportunity to take part in life group time. Life Groups are small groups where children are able to connect with other boys or girls their same age/grade with a consistent adult leader. In Life Groups they are able to engage in a craft/activity and discussion about how the Biblical truth of the week applies to their lives. Our goal with Life Groups is to place consistent adult leaders in the lives of our children who will model Jesus for them and be able to partner with you as a parent in helping your children say yes to Jesus.

What Resources are Available for me as a Parent?

If your child is 2 years old thru 5th grade you will receive a Parent Cue card when you pick up your child. The Parent Cue is a simple resource that highlights what your child is learning in BayKids and gives you simple questions and activities to continue to engage your child throughout the week.

We also recommend that Parents download the Parent Cue App (iOS / Android). This app allows you to watch the videos your child is watching, provides you with great activities and tips to teach your kids at home, and gives you parenting resources.
